20th Century Fox’s upcoming horror film, The Pyramid, has a brand new trailer out today, and from first impressions I’d say it looks like a bit of The Descent set in an Egyptian pyramid, and that’s awesome. Let’s just hope we’ve got a good mummy-ish monster film with this one, it’s a long time coming.
The Pyramid will star True Blood’s Ashley Hinshaw, The Inbetweeners’ James Buckley, and American Horror Story’s Denis O’Hare. As you can easily see all over this page, the film is set for a full theatrical release on December 5th of this year. And in some really good news for you High Tension fans out there, Alexandre Aja is among the producers, and writer Grégory Levasseur is directing.
Synopsis from the press release:
The ancient wonders of the world have long cursed explorers who’ve dared to uncover their secrets. But a team of U.S. archaeologists gets more than they bargained for when they discover a lost pyramid unlike any other in the Egyptian desert. As they unlock the horrific secrets buried within, they realize they aren’t just trapped, they are being hunted.
